Strategic Investments in Ireland’s Offshore Wind Supply Chain
Ireland's National Industrial Strategy for Offshore Wind, known as "Powering Prosperity," aims to establish a robust supply chain and maximize the economic benefits of offshore wind energy. The strategy outlines a comprehensive approach to building capacity and capability in the offshore wind energy sector.
The strategy emphasizes the development of a resilient supply chain, leveraging Ireland's strengths in research, development, and innovation (RD&I). By fostering an enterprise ecosystem with indigenous and multinational companies, Ireland aims to become a global leader in the offshore wind sector.
"Ireland's marine territory offers immense potential for offshore wind energy. Our goal is to build a successful and impactful sector by 2030, creating significant value and up to 5,000 jobs," said Minister Simon Coveney.

The strategy includes tangible actions for 2024 and 2025, such as establishing Green Energy Industrial Parks and exploring the potential for a floating offshore wind demonstrator site. These initiatives aim to boost Ireland's international profile and ensure the country's economic and energy security.
